HubSpot calling vs a parallel dialer for SDR teams

In brief

HubSpot can call from the CRM, and Sales Hub Enterprise now includes a native sales power dialer. A parallel dialer changes the calling pace by ringing several numbers for one SDR. The right choice depends on your list, plan, countries and the CRM result you need.

A rep has a list ready in HubSpot. They can call from each contact record, but if many calls go unanswered, the time spent waiting between conversations matters. Before adding another tool, check how HubSpot moves through that list and what it records after each call.

HubSpot already has calling from a contact record or the contacts index, with notes and call outcomes. On Sales Hub Enterprise, it also has a native sales power dialer. It queues selected contacts, lets the rep set time between calls, and resumes the queue after each call log. That feature is documented in HubSpot’s July 2026 guide.

The distinction is pacing. HubSpot’s documented power-dialer session works through a queue in sequence. A parallel dialer rings several numbers at once for one SDR and transfers the first live answer. Neither workflow is inherently better; they fit different lists and different ways of working.

Disclosure and source date. Ubic publishes this comparison and sells a parallel dialer. Comparison established on 6 October 2026, based on publicly available HubSpot calling documentation and Ubic’s connector guide. We have not measured a performance uplift between the two.

When HubSpot’s own calling is enough

Start with the CRM’s native option if the team makes planned callbacks, works a selective list, or wants to stay on the contact record for every call. HubSpot’s browser calling guide covers calls from the CRM using a HubSpot number, a registered number or a third-party provider. A HubSpot Sales or Service seat may be required, depending on the subscription.

For an Enterprise sales team, the native power dialer can remove repeated list navigation without adding another product. Its queue controls and wrap-up time are part of the documented flow. Before you buy anything else, test that flow with real SDRs and check whether ringing is actually the constraint.

Also check the account’s calling allowance. HubSpot says native calling minutes are pooled across users and depend on the subscription. Country and number rules differ; use its current availability page for your actual markets. An included feature can still have a capacity or geography limit that matters to a calling team.

When a parallel session helps

If the team runs sizeable B2B outbound lists and most attempts ring out or reach voicemail, sequential calling can leave the SDR waiting. A parallel dialer moves that waiting onto several lines. Ubic’s product page describes up to three simultaneous numbers, voicemail filtering and transfer to the SDR when someone answers.

That change needs a test, not a promise. Put your own number on a permissioned list. Listen for delay after pickup. Inspect what happens to the other ringing calls and when they become callable again. A parallel dialer will also move through a poor list more quickly, so first check phone quality, target fit and callback rules.

What actually syncs between HubSpot and Ubic

An administrator connects HubSpot to Ubic with a private-app access token and creates an Ubic calling list from a HubSpot contact list. The SDR calls in Ubic. The status they select can update the HubSpot property configured for that list. Notes and outbound SMS can be recorded as activities, and an optional setting can create or update a linked deal when a conversion status is chosen. These are connector-specific settings, not a blanket claim that every call field flows in both directions.

The status has an important condition: if the list has no HubSpot property selected, Ubic does not push that prospect status back. Test with one contact before rolling the integration out to the team. Ubic is not claiming to be a calling window embedded in HubSpot; the call session remains in Ubic.

A practical decision

Run a short native HubSpot session and an Ubic session on comparable, permissioned lists. Track attempted numbers, conversations, callbacks due and CRM records that need manual correction. Do not compare only dial count: a clean outcome and a prospect who hears a rep promptly matter as much as pace.

If native HubSpot calling does the job, keep it. If the outbound session is still dominated by unanswered rings, book an Ubic demo and bring the HubSpot property and list your SDRs use. The HubSpot integration page shows the supported path in more detail.
